<p> STATE WATER RESOURCES CONTROL BOARD RESOLUTION NO. 2002 - 0017</p><p>GROUNDWATER AMBIENT MONITORING AND ASSESSMENT PROGRAM (GAMA): AUTHORIZE EXECUTION AND AMENDMENT OF STANDARD AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED STATES GEOLOGICAL SURVEY (USGS), LAWRENCE LIVERMORE NATIONAL LABORATORIES (LLNL) OR ANOTHER PUBLIC AGENCY FOR CONTINUED AMBIENT GROUNDWATER MONITORING</p><p>WHEREAS:</p><p>1. The mission of the State Water Resources Control Board is to preserve and enhance the quality of California’s water resources, and ensure their proper allocation and effi- cient use for the benefit of present and future generations;</p><p>2. Ambient water quality monitoring provides valuable information to assess the poten- tial impacts of pollutants on the beneficial uses of water; and</p><p>3. Expenditure authority for this agreement is included in the budget.</p><p>THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT:</p><p>The State Water Resources Control Board authorizes the Executive Director or designee to enter into an agreement and any amendments thereto, not to exceed $4,920,000, with the United States Geological Survey, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories, or another public agency to conduct ambient groundwater monitoring.</p><p>CERTIFICATION</p><p>The undersigned, Clerk to the Board, does hereby certify that the foregoing is a full, true, and correct copy of a resolution duly and regularly adopted at a meeting of the State Wa- ter Resources Control Board held on January 23, 2002.</p><p>/s/ Maureen Marché Clerk to the Board</p>
