
<p> PfCONA MEETING MINUTES JUNE 9, 2008</p><p>The meeting was called to order by Chairman Kevin Kluge at 7:00pm.</p><p>The speaker for this evening is Trey Fletcher; Director of City Planning. Topic for this evening: Development Summary & Issues Overview.</p><p>New Development Summary: -Gilliland Creek Trail (Grand Avenue to Heatherwilde) -Pfluger Crossing -lots of building; a Jack In The Box and Radio Shack have committed -Stone Hill Town Center -Home Depot is open -Pad 21: Mattress Firm, Jamba Juice and Verizon Wireless -Expected: Chili’s, Best Buy and Super Target (April, 2009) -Highland Park Industrial Special District (commercial and retail) -five buildings -only near 12 homes and Highland Park Elem School -buffers will be built between homes and the school; no access from school and single family homes -Following recommendations to Council for FY2009 Street Improvements: Heatherwilde Kelly Lane Pfennig Lane Pflugerville Pkwy (east) Pflugerville Pkwy (west) to Marfa Lights Gatlingburg Channel Drainage Downtown Area Alley/Parking improvements (not bonded) Lake Pflugerville Improvements-North Shore (not bonded)</p><p>Recommendations may not be done if funds aren’t available.</p><p>Community and City need to work together to make Pflugerville a community that we will all be proud of. Need to find an adequate method to notify residents of happening in the community e.g. rezoning. Construct a neighborhood atlas/directory. Take advantage of toolbox resources and make good use of the City’s website. The cities of Frisco and Plano were mentioned as sources for city websites. Pflugerville’s Growth: POPULATION 1970: 0.34 sq. mi. 549 1980: 0.95 745 1990: 2.50 4444 2000: 11.33 16,335 2008: 21.14 41,817</p><p>Issues to be considered: •How will we transition from an agricultural landscape to a suburban landscape- proper planning is so important.</p><p>•How to create and maintain a housing variety in our community.</p><p>•Maintaining housing codes to ensure that neighborhoods will maintain acceptable appearances for years to come and will not become eyesores.</p><p>Pflugerville is no longer an isolated community. The toll roads and more roads being built that provide more open access to our community. This continues to decrease our isolation.</p><p>City manager, David Buesing , also made comments and answered questions during this presentation. He mentioned that the building standards have been upgraded so that quality buildings are built and Pflugerville will be a place that people will want to live.</p><p>Parking ordinance committee meeting is scheduled for June 17th beginning at 6:45pm at 100 East Main- Suite 500.</p><p>Chief Hooker- Commented about the 4th of July Celebration scheduled to be held at the Lake. The fireworks will go off whether rain or shine. In case of rain; the fireworks will go off at an alternate site near Hendrickson High School. There is ZERO tolerance for fireworks in Pflugerville. Not obeying the tolerance can lead to a fine of $325. Also Kid Fish took place on June 7th at Lake Pflugerville and was lots of fun.</p><p>David Buesing (City Manager)- The building standards have been upgraded so that quality buildings are built and Pflugerville will be a place that people will want to live.
