Info - Reason: recently approved planning application for Old Magistrates Court in Nelson Street requires closure of Christmas Street during construction period of about 2 years. - Christmas Street is part of traffic re-routing plan in proposed pedestrianisation scheme – particularly relevant to serve Law Courts in Small Street. - Alternative options currently being explored. One option is pedestrianisation of Corn Street initially only on weekends (when Law BCC asap Courts are closed) until completion of Old Magistrates Court construction work. - Animation programme for Corn Street important and under discussion.
