First it was privatization & opening up and now detarrifing. This has resulted in fierce competition leading to cutting on premiums. </p><p>The Insurers are becoming very critical about their profitability as they are operating on lowest margins which sometimes may be even negative due to the competition. Policy terms & conditions are also going to be detarrifed.</p><p>On the otherhand, the insured is becoming more aware & knowledgeable about his rights. Competition also adds its bit to customer education. More & more grievance redressal systems are coming up for consumer protection which makes it critical from legal point also.</p><p>The Surveyor is to face challenges from all the sides. Continuously changing technology & Engineering, business methods & procedures and lifestyles & values of people also need to be kept track with. He is also to keep high his professional ethics of Integrity, Impartiality & Equity.
