From page 136, what percentage of the US’s textile industry is in the South? What are textiles and why were the mills dangerous for kids (The owners really loved when little kids worked there!) in the 1800’s?</p><p>16. What happened to the gentleman that was trapped in the textile machine at the “Lowell Mill” in the winter of 1869? How might that incident have felt? How loud would you scream if that were you? </p>
