<p> 1 2 Full City Council 3 4 5 6 7HONORING TEAM VERMONT 8WINNER SNOW SCULPTING NATIONAL COMPETITION 9 10 11 12 13 14In the year Two Thousand Twelve……………………………………………………………….. 15Resolved by the City Council of the City of Burlington, as follows: 16 17That WHEREAS, Team Vermont, including Michael Nedell, Team Captain, Alex Dostie and </p><p>18Brooke Monte, won the U.S. National Snow Sculpting Competition on Saturday, February 4, </p><p>192012 in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin; and</p><p>20 WHEREAS, Team Vermont became Vermont State Champions at Vermont's officially </p><p>21sanctioned snow sculpture competition at Burlington’s Winter Festival in 2011; and </p><p>22 WHEREAS, Team Vermont was judged by 15 other championship state teams with their </p><p>23“Inner Piece” design and brought Vermont its first national snow sculpting title; and </p><p>24 WHEREAS, with the support of Kombi Sports, Switchback Brewery, Harpoon Brewing, </p><p>25Dostie Brothers Frame Shop, VermontSEO.com, and the Burlington Parks and Recreation </p><p>26Department, Team Vermont brought their Vermont spirit to Wisconsin, raising the consciousness</p><p>27of the spectators and other competitors with a seemingly impossible design perfecting the </p><p>28intense, grueling and extreme art of competitive snow sculpturing; and</p><p>29 WHEREAS, upon winning the national competition Team Vermont received a Trophy </p><p>30Invitation to compete in the 2013 Italian International Snow Sculpting Competition, sanctioned </p><p>31by Association International de Sculpture surNeigeet Glace in Corso Italia of Cortina </p><p>32d’Ampezzo, Italy; 33 2</p><p>34 HONORING TEAM VERMONT 35 WINNER SNOW SCULPTING NATIONAL 36 COMPETITION 37</p><p>38 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council express its </p><p>39congratulations to the Team Vermont for their accomplishment and wishes all team members </p><p>40the very best of success in the future competition; and</p><p>41 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk’s Office is requested to present </p><p>42certified copies of this resolution to each of the members of the Team Vermont.</p><p>43 44</p><p>45</p><p>46 </p><p>47 48lb/kas/c: Resolutions 2012/Snow Sculpting National Competition – Honoring Vt.
