As a volunteer for this organisation I performed the following duties:  Monitoring a 2 km stretch of beach renowed for turtle egg laying  Census of nestings, eggs and survival rate  Replacement of nesting to maximise survival rates  Design and place protective covering for nestings April - July 2005 Volunteer Research Assistant As a volunteer member of the Thai Society for Conservation of Wild Animals, I participated in ecological studies concerning a Rain Forest Sanctuary. My responsibilities included assisting the Forest Engineer on a vegetation study aimed at measuring and identifying the phyto-diversity of the Sanctuary and assisting a biologist on a preliminary scientific report concerning the possibility of bear reintroduction in the Santuary. My duties included:  Exploration of rain forest  Trekking to GIS assisted locations  Conducting vegetation census and plant identifications.  Setting hair snags, camera traps and recording and identifying animal tracks. Outcomes:  Well developed communication skills  Research deadlines met</p><p>January-February 2005 Volunteer in animal rescue As a volunteer with the ARCHELON society for sea turtle conservation in the Sea Turtle Rescue Center in Athens, Greece, I participated in a large campaign of endangered animals rescue, mainly providing animal welfare, adjusting telemetric apparatuses, recording behavior patterns on the field. June-December 2004 Research Assistant Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Istanbul University  Conducted experiments on animal behavior (e.g.: Maze Test, Porsolt’s Forced Swimming Test, Holeboard test, etc...)  Biochemical Method Knowledge: Fluorometric blood assays 2001-2003 Research Assistant Institute for Experimental Medicine Istanbul University I worked on a number of projects. My duties included:  Animal physiology research (rabbits, gineau pig and mice)  Blood assay tests August-September 2002 Volunteer for the Conservation and Monitoring of Marine Turtles My duties included:  Monitoring a 22 km stretch of beach renowed for turtle egg laying  Census of nestings, eggs and survival rate  Replacement of nesting to maximise survival rates  Design and place protective covering for nestings  Sand temperture readings This research culminated in a conference presentation: Akyatan/Adana organised by WWF Turkey, Adana National Parks Department and Cukurova University.
