<p>State of Alabama Pike County Brundidge, Alabama</p><p>The Council of the City of Brundidge, Alabama met in regular session on May 16th, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall at which time and place the following members were present: Councilmembers Baxter, Griffin, Ross, Gaynor and Foster. Mayor Boyd called the meeting to order.</p><p>The revised minutes for the May 2nd, 2017 council meeting was presented and upon a motion by Mrs. Baxter to approve the minutes, a second was made by Mr. Gaynor, with all voting yea, the minutes were approved. </p><p>Mayor Boyd opened the meeting with a Formal Amendment Public Hearing to discuss the City’s intent to amend CDBG Project No. SM-ED-PF-15-002, also known as the “North Industrial Park Expansion Project.” Due to a cost of construction underrun, the Council must amend the project and deobligate the remaining construction funds. </p><p>The City was fortunate enough to have a local bidder who was able to make the project very competitive by presenting the lowest bid, which was under the anticipated cost of construction. Although, the funds saved by the underrun were not enough to warrant a change in project scope, the underrun did exceed 10 percent of the grant amount. Any change, which increases or decreases the project by 10%, must be approved via Formal Amendment and requires a Public Hearing. </p><p>As a result of the amendment, the Council will need to deobligate $37,885.34 and decrease its local match by $35,828.52. This will bring the total project cost to $351,167.50, with $212,114.66 in CDBG funds and $139,052.84 spent in local match. </p><p>A copy of the Public Hearing Notice, Public Hearing Roster, Formal Amendment Letter from Mayor, Executed Resolution and Revised CDBG Budget will be submitted ADECA for approval. </p><p>There being no questions or comments, Mayor Boyd closed the Public Hearing.</p><p>Mr. Griffin moved the council approve Resolution No. 2017-17 approving the amendment to CDBG Project No. SM-ED-PF-15-002. Mr. Gaynor seconded the motion and with all voting yea the motion carried.</p><p>After a second reading of Ordinance No. 2017-02 relating to the purchase of the former BB&T building located at 220 and 222 North Main Street, Mr. Griffin moved the council adopt this ordinance as presented and with a second by Mrs. Baxter the roll was called and the following votes were recorded: Voting yea, Boyd, Baxter, Griffin, Ross, Gaynor and Foster. Voting Nay: None Ordinance No. 2017- 02 stands approved. The City Manager reviewed the City’s annual Municipal Water Pollution Prevention (MWPP) Program’s report with the Mayor and Council. There being no questions, Mrs. Ross moved the council approve the report as presented. Mrs. Baxter seconded the motion and with all voting yea the motion carried.</p><p>Dr. Antoinette Wilson, Director of Toni’s Touch Inc., spoke to the council regarding a “Feed My Lambs” mentoring program for the children of Brundidge. This program would provide a nourishing lunch for the children once a month. Dr. Wilson requested the council approve this program and the use of Ramage Park for the location. Mr. Griffin moved the council approve Dr. Wilson’s request, a second was made by Mr. Gaynor. With all voting yea the motion carried.</p><p>The City Manager reviewed FY2017 Budget Amendment No. 1 and also FY2017 March financials.</p><p>There being no further business to come before the council, Mr. Foster moved the meeting be adjourned with a second by Mrs. Ross.</p><p>I, Britt Thomas, City Manager and Clerk of the City of Brundidge, Alabama do hereby certify the above is a true and correct copy of minutes of the Brundidge City Council, and I further certify the original of same is on file in the official minute book of the Council in my office located at 146 South Main Street, Brundidge, Alabama.</p><p>______Britt Thomas</p><p>______SEAL Date</p>
