State of Alabama Pike County Brundidge, Alabama
The Council of the City of Brundidge, Alabama met in regular session on May 16th, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall at which time and place the following members were present: Councilmembers Baxter, Griffin, Ross, Gaynor and Foster. Mayor Boyd called the meeting to order.
The revised minutes for the May 2nd, 2017 council meeting was presented and upon a motion by Mrs. Baxter to approve the minutes, a second was made by Mr. Gaynor, with all voting yea, the minutes were approved.
Mayor Boyd opened the meeting with a Formal Amendment Public Hearing to discuss the City’s intent to amend CDBG Project No. SM-ED-PF-15-002, also known as the “North Industrial Park Expansion Project.” Due to a cost of construction underrun, the Council must amend the project and deobligate the remaining construction funds.
The City was fortunate enough to have a local bidder who was able to make the project very competitive by presenting the lowest bid, which was under the anticipated cost of construction. Although, the funds saved by the underrun were not enough to warrant a change in project scope, the underrun did exceed 10 percent of the grant amount. Any change, which increases or decreases the project by 10%, must be approved via Formal Amendment and requires a Public Hearing.
As a result of the amendment, the Council will need to deobligate $37,885.34 and decrease its local match by $35,828.52. This will bring the total project cost to $351,167.50, with $212,114.66 in CDBG funds and $139,052.84 spent in local match.
A copy of the Public Hearing Notice, Public Hearing Roster, Formal Amendment Letter from Mayor, Executed Resolution and Revised CDBG Budget will be submitted ADECA for approval.
There being no questions or comments, Mayor Boyd closed the Public Hearing.
