<p>AP Poem - #1: How does poetry come to be?</p><p>Using the following poems as examples, write your own poem that utilizes the poetic devices we are studying first, particularly imagery, simile, metaphor, personification, apostrophe and/or metonymy. Be sure to pay attention to your diction – denotation and connotation are devices you should consider as you choose your words beyond simple rhythm, rhyming, and rhyme scheme. You may be asked to present your poem and the elements you used to create meaning/purpose.
