Ask students what is a line. Ask, could we live in a world without lines? How many different types of lines are there? Can a line go on forever, if yes, what does this mean (infinite)? Ask students to tell you about different lines they see everyday. What objects do the lines form? After discussion, explain that today we will learn about lines in a mathematical perspective.</p><p>Step: 2 Duration: 15 minutes Use PowerPoint projector and slide show to explain various components of lines and definitions. After slide show, pass out a hand-out of the slide show. </p><p>Step: 3 Duration: 20 minutes Divide students into groups of 4 and assign each group a number. Essentially students use themselves to form various lines. This is usually a fun and energetic way for students to learn the different types of lines.</p><p>Step: 4 Duration: 10 minutes Once students return to their seats, distribute "dot paper" . Have students complete the worksheet.
