Position Title: Supervisor Auxiliary Services</p><p>Department: Corporate Services</p><p>Unit: RAA</p><p>Number of Posts: 1</p><p>Role Purpose</p><p>To ensure a clean internal environment of the municipal premises to support the professional delivery of the institution. Cleaning supervisor has overall responsibility for the day-to-day cleaning operation so that the building, transport and its surrounding area are clean and safe for people to live or work in. </p><p>Key Responsibilities:</p><p>Coordinate:</p><p> To have the overall responsibility for the practical organisation of the day to day cleaning operation To monitor stocks of cleaning equipment and materials in order that orders can be placed on a timely basis. To organise appropriate training for all cleaning staff. To maintain a flexible daily cleaning schedule of all internal areas of the municipality. Check on a daily basis that all areas of the municipality cleaned to a satisfactory standard and daily cleaning logs are completed for each work section. Undertake any additional cleaning duties as directed, by the Records Manager. Maintain cleaning staff attendance logs and timesheets for submission to the Finance Officer. Recruit sufficient cleaning staff to cover the weekly budgeted cleaning hours. To be responsible for the day to day personnel management of the cleaning staff, and consulting with the Records Manager on any necessary formal procedures. Produce on a weekly basis, official order forms for equipment, uniform and materials for signature by the Records Manager. Investigate and maintain a working knowledge of developments in cleaning equipment and materials and to identify means by which the cleaning operation might be developed. Develop and carry out induction procedures with all new staff. Identify formal and informal training needs for all cleaning staff. To ensure that all Health & Safety procedures are followed by the cleaning supervisor Ensuring that adequate supplies of cleaning materials and equipment are available to staff as required. Ensuring that equipment is safe to use and in good working order. Ensuring good working practices of staff under your supervision especially where chemicals and hazardous substances are in use (COSSH). Undertaking training of new and current staff in safe cleaning practices.
