The Central amazon conservation complex is the land to the left of the river is the eastern edge of the Jau national park.</p><p>What’s involved? It is a rain forest with a river running through it. It is the largest protected area in the amazon basin it is over 6 million hectares. It is one of the planets richest regions in terms of biodiversity. Why is it world heritage? To contain the most important and significant natural habitats for in-situ conservation of biological diversity, including those containing threatened species of outstanding universal value from the point of view of science or conservation.</p><p>To be outstanding examples representing significant on- going ecological and biological processes in the evolution and development of terrestrial, fresh water, coastal and marine ecosystems and communities of plants and animals.</p><p>It is significant to humanity because it is such a great stretch of land that is so rich on biodiversity. It is also home to one of the largest electrical fish in the world. It is home to a lot of protected species. Including the giant arapaima fish, the amazon manatee, the black caiman and two species of river dolphins.</p>
