<p> British Columbia Canadian International School (BCCIS)</p><p>Position: Secondary Physical Education and Social Studies/English</p><p>Worksite: BC Offshore School - BCCIS-Cairo</p><p>Effective Date: August 2017</p><p>Deadline for Applications: open</p><p>Contract Term: Full time, two years</p><p>Certification: Candidates must be a BC certified or certifiable teacher</p><p>Applications must include a cover letter, resume, teaching and/or practicum report, transcripts and the names and contact information of two teaching references.</p><p>Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience:</p><p>• Human Kinetics and/or Physical Education degree required • strong commitment to excellence in teaching and demonstrated successful experience in teaching all components of a well-rounded and effective Physical Education program at the secondary school level • coursework and experience in teaching Social Studies at the secondary school level • proven ability to deliver a balanced PE program at the secondary school level • ability to design and implement a variety of assessment practices in Physical Education in order to measure and monitor student progress effectively • proven ability to provide innovative ideas to improve student motivation and perception of PE at the secondary school level • comprehensive understanding of curriculum coupled with the ability to interpret curriculum appropriately to accommodate individual differences • demonstrated sensitivity, awareness and understanding of adolescent development and enthusiasm for working, and developing positive relationships, with adolescents • demonstrated ability to incorporate a wide range of effective classroom management strategies, which maintain the dignity of young adolescents • evidence of personal initiative and strong work ethic with a proven ability to work as an effective team member • demonstrated ability to be a good communicator with parents, students and other teaching staff in a variety of situations (eg. face to face, telephone, e-mail, web) • willingness to work in a collaborative manner with staff, administration and parents</p><p>BCCIS is a BC Offshore School that is accredited by the BC Ministry of Education.
