<p> Fuses ME- Building Group</p><p>SECTION 262813 – FUSES</p><p>PART 1 - GENERAL</p><p>0.1 RELATED DOCUMENTS</p><p>A. Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and Division 01 Specification Sections, apply to this Section.</p><p>0.2 SUMMARY</p><p>A. This Section includes fuses.</p><p>0.3 QUALITY ASSURANCE</p><p>A. Source Limitations: Obtain fuses from one source and by a single manufacturer.</p><p>B. Comply with NFPA 70 for components and installation.</p><p>C. Listing and Labeling: Provide fuses specified in this Section that are listed and labeled. 1. The Terms "Listed" and "Labeled": As defined in the National Electrical Code, Article 100.</p><p>PART 2 - PRODUCTS</p><p>0.1 MANUFACTURERS</p><p>A. Manufacturers: Unless otherwise directed by the Owner, provide products by one of the following: 1. Cooper Industries, Inc.; Bussmann Div. 2. Gould Shawmut. 3. Tracor, Inc.; Littelfuse, Inc. Subsidiary.</p><p>PART 3 - EXECUTION</p><p>0.1 EXAMINATION</p><p>A. Examine utilization equipment nameplates and installation instructions to verify proper fuse locations, sizes, and characteristics.</p><p>B. Feeders 601 Amperes & above: Bussmann Class L, Low Peak, Current Limiting, KRP-C_SP 600 VAC. All fuses shall be the low peak current limiting fuses regardless of amperage.</p><p>B. Feeders and Branch Circuits 225 thru 600 Amperes: Bussmann Class RK1, Low Peak, Dual Element Time Delay, LPS-RK_SP 600 VAC, LPN-RK_SP 250 VAC.</p><p>C. Motor Branch Circuits: Class RK1, time delay, or Class J in motor control centers.</p><p>D. Branch Circuits 200 Amperes & below: Bussmann Class RK5 class fuse, Dual Element Time Delay, FRS-R 200.</p><p>E. Busway Plug-in Units: Class RK1 or RK5 consistent with application above.</p><p>0.3 INSTALLATION</p><p>A. Install fuses in fusible devices, including busway plug-in units, as indicated. Arrange fuses so fuse ratings are readable without removing fuse.</p><p>0.4 IDENTIFICATION</p><p>A. Install typewritten labels on inside of door of each fused switch to indicate fuse replacement information.</p><p>0.5 FUSE REPLACEMENT</p><p>A. Replace all fuses which fail during construction.
