The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD Play Journal Entries Stagger Lanayru79 03/13/2016 2:10 PM I adore Snowpeak Ruins, but I think I said enough about it on the log of my first playthrough. I'll pick up part two of a more story oriented journal here, right-handed blue-hearted style ... WARNING: Unmarked spoilers will appear in the comments. It's been so long since I came to the cannon tutorial room before having the Ball and Chain. Heh. E Yeah! e 29 r 102 D Advertisement Share this Post 1 Tweet 2 Share Embed Comment Stagger 03/13/2016 2:30 PM I concluded my last post discussing how crafty Ashei and Yeto's roles were in getting here, disarming the battle w/ a snow beast notion. Yeta's transformation into Blizetta is the payoff. It's a gorgeous fight in HD, and the creepy organ work suits it perfectly. So is this King Zora's mansion? I just noticed that the goat portraiture is from inside the house, but pictures of the City in the Sky? E Yeah! e 2 D Stagger 03/13/2016 3:02 PM Boy, not visiting Telma's Bar at all really rips the drama out of the dialogue w/ Rusl. Continuing from my last post, while the second leg of the Mirror shard segment doesn't directly involve Link's charges in Kakariko, it does involve Colin's father. Sustained effort to maintain the initial heroic motivation hanging by a thread ... but in tact. What is he talking about btw? ToT = Sealed Temple... E Yeah! e 2 D Zachary 03/13/2016 3:13 PM 1st outsider E Yeah! e 0 D Stagger 03/13/2016 3:23 PM In order for this advanced and supposedly Oocca technology to have been incorporated into this unspecified placement of the Temple of Time, it must have happened during an unseen era. Were the creations of Lanayru the Thunder Dragon involved? Could it tie into the glimpses of Zelda U we've seen? It's an intriguing sidebar. Skull Kid's role is a nice one. After a brief visit w/ Agitha ... E Yeah! e 2 D Nintendoer 03/13/2016 3:38 PM ...Nintendoer decides to pop into the post and say "Notifications!" E Yeah! e 2 D Stagger 03/13/2016 3:39 PM ... it's into the Temple! That vintage OoT music would not have made as suitable a dungeon theme, but it's as appropriate as can be for the entryway. I'm going to take a break before following Ooccoo and Junior into the action proper. Kind of ravenously devouring my favorite section of the game today ... E Yeah! e 3 D Elzonire 03/13/2016 4:28 PM Back from river rafting! Notifications, good sir! E Yeah! e 1 Justin86 03/13/2016 5:02 PM There have been some interesting theories regarding the Temple of Time, including the window Navi flies through at the end of OoT. Most likely it leads outside, though some say it leads to the dungeon portion of the temple seen in this game. E Yeah! e 3 D Matthew 03/13/2016 5:21 PM *Waves hand* You will give me notifications. What's what? You're immune to mind tricks? Oh well. E Yeah! e 2 D Joshua 03/13/2016 6:06 PM I would think that Stagger's mind is too sharp to even remotely be susceptible to mind tricks due to his minimalist Zelda playthroughs. E Yeah♥ e 1 D Ray 03/13/2016 6:18 PM ...Ray decides to pop into the post, *waves his hand*, and says "You will give me notifications, good sir!" E Yeah♥ e 1 Nintendoer 03/13/2016 6:35 PM ^Then how do you explain the fact that Stagger will give him notifications? E Yeah♥ e 3 D Ed™ 03/13/2016 6:55 PM Ed pops in and gets notifs without all the references and jokes. E Yeah! e 2 Stagger 03/13/2016 7:04 PM Grumble grumble ... *notifies Matthew* :p My mind is only so sharp Joshua. That's why I'm stealing Nintendoer's idea for Gohmalings. That works great! I'm getting roughed up in here and quite enjoying it. River rafting Elzo-sama? Sounds amazing! @Justin: I think this portion of the Temple existed between SS and OoT. I liked your observation of Navi at the window post. E Yeah! e 5 D Stagger 03/13/2016 7:14 PM Armos have done most of the damage. I'm finding my way of fighting them on the Wii version a lot less safe here. In any event, I need the practice scrapping the Backslice for runs to come. There are a few uses of the Light Medallion symbol here, none quite so evident as the floor pattern in Darknut's room. Historia credits Rauru w/ construction of the ToT iirc ... E Yeah! e 4 D Joshua 03/13/2016 7:20 PM I actually tried to use the Dominion Rod against the Baby Gohmae, or whatever they are called, in TP Wii once. Needless to say, it wasn't very effective... E Yeah♥ e 0 D Zachary 03/13/2016 7:30 PM That's my favorite battle! E Yeah! e 0 D Elzonire 03/13/2016 7:31 PM Joshua, you don't mean the rod by itself, right? E Yeah! e 0 Stagger 03/13/2016 7:40 PM Nah, he means like so! It's only incredibly effective in this one instance if you destroy the Beamos unnecessarily. The first swing got the rest of them. The statue and its teleportation bells both bear the Light symbol, and in the balance scale room, there is some clear seven sages imagery too. Like Snowpeak, I extolled the great merits of this ToT last log, but it continues to charm me. E Yeah! e 2 D Elzonire 03/13/2016 7:45 PM ·Spoilers But Stagger, the Temple of Light is in the Sacred Realm, which is not physically connected to Hyrule. Or any part of the world. It's only a magical link. The Temple of Time dungeon is very clearly physically attached to the Temple of Time entrance, therefore, it cannot be the Temple of Light. The Sage of Light symbol is there only because Rauru built it. So why does everyone think both temples E Yeah! e 0 Elzonire 03/13/2016 7:46 PM ·Spoilers are one and the same? E Yeah! e 0 Stagger 03/13/2016 7:51 PM I never said I think they're the same. Far from it ... not sure where you got that from Elzo. Honestly, I can see a much better argument for this being the TotG than Arbiter's Grounds though. Ah, this fight ... it's just so easy, yet so grand. All of TP's boss theme music shares the trait of a separate joyous portion when Link has his opening. I think this kind of encapsulates the good and the E Yeah! e 2 D Stagger 03/13/2016 7:58 PM bad of what TP brings to the table in the ultimate enemy conflicts. Theatrical merits versus some rather obvious and feeble gameplay ... thankfully, the endgame foes don't suffer from the latter. E Yeah! e 2 D Elzonire 03/13/2016 8:02 PM I know that's not your opinion, I meant most people in general. E Yeah! e 1 Stagger 03/13/2016 8:06 PM Oh, okay Elbro ... hrrm, I guess the symbols and the fact that people think they left it on the cutting room floor from OoT. That's right Midna, blame those freakish bird people. I'm going to cook some dinner, but should be able to advance a bit in the process. Here's another plot hole for you Matthew, as I saw Vladislak bring up recently. How the heck did a Mirror shard get into the past? E Yeah! e 2 D Nintendoer 03/13/2016 8:08 PM For that matter, why would Zant have been so careless when hiding them that a random yeti could walk up to it and bring it home? E Yeah♥ e 0 D Elzonire 03/13/2016 8:12 PM ·Spoilers It doesn't seem like a big stretch that Zant could enter the temple and place it in. Placing it in the distant past is a good way to keep something from being found. Getting in the sky? Still possible, but... It would be wonderful if the first time you entered the temple, you'd see Young Link just entering the Master Sword chamber. Only problem would be the Master Sword wouldn't be there. E Yeah! e 1 Joshua 03/13/2016 8:15 PM I actually did attempt to use the Dominion Rod itself on my second TP playthrough, to minor results unsurprisingly. I did of course use the statue after that. E Yeah! e 1 D Stagger 03/13/2016 8:23 PM That is some fancy stationary Renado! Perhaps the greatest effort to keep Link's original motivation in play is made here, in the restoration of Ilia's memory. It's a well crafted side story. Here's my best advocacy for what happened w/ the Mirror. Neither Zant nor Ganondorf has mastery over temporal displacement. I think the Mirror itself chose its destinations, as a function of how it was made. E Yeah! e 4 D Joshua 03/13/2016 8:24 PM I did have sort of good reason to do so though.
