<p>Tourism and Regeneration Overview and Scrutiny AGENDA ITEM 7 Committee: 6th March 2008</p><p>ILLUMINATIONS SWITCH ON SCRUTINY </p><p>1.0 Matter for consideration</p><p>1.1 That the Committee consider an update on the recommendations included in the Illuminations Switch On Action Plan. </p><p>2.0 Recommendation(s)</p><p>2.1 To note the update report, asking questions in relation to its content and making recommendations as appropriate. </p><p>2.2 To approve the completion of the recommendations in the Illuminations Switch On Action Plan. </p><p>3.0 Summary of key issues</p><p>3.1. The Regeneration and Tourism Overview and Scrutiny Committee selected the topic of ‘Illuminations Switch On’ as a scrutiny in October 2006, and appointed a Working Group to undertake the review.</p><p>3.2. An Action plan was formulated and agreed by the Committee which would be used to monitor improvements made to the Switch On ceremony, as detailed at Appendix 7 (a). The Director of Tourism will update the Committee on the progress to date on the Action Plan. </p><p>3.3. The Illuminations Switch On Working Group has now been established and last met on 14th January 2008.
