<p>PC09 Planning Initiatives </p><p>Unit/Department: Martin Luther King Jr. University Union</p><p>Initiative: Install outside electronic marquee.</p><p>Supports following Dean/Director objectives, Vice President planning focus, and Presidents goals:</p><p>Effectiveness: “To improve overall institutional effectiveness…”</p><p>Outcomes and measurement that will be used to demonstrate progress: </p><p> Improve customer service.</p><p> Increase revenue dollars.</p><p> Improve aesthetics. </p><p>Unit/Department: Martin Luther King Jr. University Union</p><p>Initiative: The University Union will upgrade the union to remain technology current, which will include equipment in 3rd floor meeting rooms. </p><p>Supports following Dean/Director objectives, Vice President planning focus, and Presidents goals:</p><p>Effectiveness: “Enhance the quality of academic programs”</p><p>Effectiveness: “Enhance technology equipment”</p><p>Outcomes and measurement that will be used to demonstrate progress:</p><p> Will be compatible with Eastern’s computer system.  Will have needed hardware to run various software programs within the University Union. Unit/Department: Martin Luther King Jr. University Union</p><p>Initiative: Establish an information technology support position</p><p>Supports following Dean/Director objectives, Vice President planning focus, and Presidents goals:</p><p>Effectiveness: “To heighten the University’s state and national image”</p><p>Effectiveness: “To improve overall institutional effectiveness and productivity”</p><p>Effectiveness: “Enhance technology & equipment”</p><p>Outcomes and measurement that will be used to demonstrate progress:</p><p> Saving of student help dollars.</p><p> Better customer service.</p><p> Development and maintenance of Union web pages.</p><p> Increased revenues.</p><p>Unit/Department: Martin Luther King Jr. University Union</p><p>Initiative: Enhance the external building signage.</p><p>Supports following Dean/Director objectives, Vice President planning focus, and Presidents goals:</p><p>Effectiveness: “Improve institutional effectiveness”</p><p>Effectiveness: “Address deferred maintenance & campus master plan.”</p><p>Outcomes and measurement that will be used to demonstrate progress:  Allows for easier identification of University Union building by students and visitors. </p><p>Unit/Department: Martin Luther King Jr. University Union</p><p>Initiative: Upgrade black & white, and color printing equipment in Copy Express.</p><p>Supports following Dean/Director objectives, Vice President planning focus, and Presidents goals:</p><p>Effectiveness: “To improve overall institutional effectiveness…”</p><p>Effectiveness: “To enhance technology and equipment.”</p><p>Outcomes and measurement that will be used to demonstrate progress:</p><p> Increase revenue dollars.</p><p> Improve customer service.</p><p> Increase & improve quality control. </p>
