<p>JOB DESCRIPTION</p><p>JOB TITLE: Cleaning Operative SECTION: Estates and Facilities Section SCALE POINT RANGE: £7.65 per hour RESPONSIBLE TO: Cleaning Supervisor</p><p>Duties</p><p>1. To vacuum all carpeted areas.</p><p>2. To brush, mop and deck scrub non carpeted areas including stairs, landings, kitchen and toilet areas as directed. </p><p>3. To use scrubber/drier machine as instructed.</p><p>4. To use polisher machine as instructed.</p><p>5. To damp wipe and dust window sills. </p><p>6. To damp wipe, dust and polish furniture. </p><p>7. To clean pc screens. </p><p>8. To empty waste paper bins daily.</p><p>9. To clean sinks, toilets and shower areas and spray and wipe all hand contact surfaces daily.</p><p>10. To spray and wipe walls up to 3 metres. </p><p>11. To damp wipe doors. </p><p>12. To clean computer screens in public use. </p><p>13. To clean door glass and mirrors.</p><p>14. To burnish bright work. </p><p>15. To carry out specific spring cleaning duties as directed by the cleaning supervisor.</p><p>March 2014 This list of duties is not intended to be exhaustive but simply highlights a number of the major tasks of the post. Experience in provision of cleaning services preferred.</p><p>March 2014 KEY TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT</p><p>HOURS OF WORK Monday to Thursday 3.00pm – 6.00pm Friday 2.00pm – 6.00pm</p><p>SALARY The appointment will be on the living wage allowance which is currently £7.65 per hour.</p><p>LOCATION The position will be based at the main site in Thurso, </p><p>PENSION You may be entitled to join the Local Government Superannuation Scheme. Further details are available on appointment.</p><p>ANNUAL LEAVE/ PUBLIC You are employed on a term-time contract and will HOLIDAYS not be required during college holidays.
