Sackler Museums, now united in a state-of-the-art facility designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop. Visit the extensive Collections Galleries, featuring an ever-changing selection of works from the ancient world to the present, and from the Americas, Europe, North Africa, the Mediterranean, and West and East Asia, and the exhibition Drawing: The Invention of a Modern Medium. Join a student guide for a tour of the museums. Each tour is designed and led by Harvard undergraduates from a range of academic disciplines. Tours focus on a small number of objects, selected by the student guide, and provide visitors with a unique view into the building and collections. Learn a bit of Harvard history and tour the photo gallery of notable Commencement speakers and honorary degree recipients. Tour of Widener Library 10:00am-12:00pm, Widener Library First Floor Lobby Visit Harvard’s flagship library to learn about its storied history, dynamic services, and extraordinary collections. Guided tours are offered every 15 minutes, with the last tour departing at 11:30am. Tours will last approximately 25 minutes. A showcase in Widener will highlight Harvard Library’s innovative programing and its diverse resources. Harvard University Archives Open House 11:00 am – 1:00pm, Pusey Library Visit the Archives for a display of historical treasures - learn about Harvard’s history, traditions, and student life from the 17th century to the present. Two Foundational Pillars of the Harvard Undergraduate Experience The Liberal Arts, the Honor Code and Academic Integrity at Harvard College 10:30 – 11:30am, Harvard Hall 104 Integrity is the foundation of the academic experience at Harvard College. In Spring 2014, the FAS faculty voted to adopt an Honor Code for Harvard College. These themes are reinforced in the courses and tutorials that students take in their concentrations and the General Education program, and by an Honor Council. Undergraduate House Life 11:30-12:30pm, Harvard Hall 104 The Houses serve as the foundation for the undergraduate experience at Harvard College, forging a link between learning and living. The House system cultivates an assortment of intellectual activities and traditions, as well as robust cultural and social opportunities. In effect, each House forms a small academic and social community within the larger context of the College. Come hear from key house staff and student leaders.
