<p>THE COMMUNICATION STUDIES LAB Communication Studies Lab The Lab Provides: and Resource Center *Drop-in Assistance The Lab, located in Clark Hall 240, is staffed Choosing a topic by students in the Comm. Studies Dept. It Pronunciation practice provides assistance for those enrolled in Speech organization all Comm. Studies classes. However, any Individual outlines SJSU student may sign up for a unit of Practicing a speech Comm. 80. The Lab provides individual Viewing a speech peer tutoring to enrich and support a student's experience in any course requiring *Self-Paced Instructional Modules oral communication or presentation skills. Accent Improvement Several instructors require students in their Outlining classes to complete one or more modules as Critique of Model Speeches part of the basic course. Lab hours will be Research and Evidence posted on the door of the lab. Review of Student Speeches Visual Aids Communication 80 Registration Interpersonal Skills * Department Library/Computers Students may add a unit of Comm. 80 through Touchtone through the Add Period. In addition * Workshop Modules (examples) students should fill out the attached registration Communication Apprehension form and return it to the dept. office, HGH 108, CL240 Outlining for Speeches to your instructor, or to Beth Von Till, Liz Harris or Leadership Workshop Shannon Doyle Gender Communication Accent & Articulation THE CLASS CODE IS ______Delivery Skills Problem Solving Requirements Listening Skills Impromptu Speaking To earn 1 unit of Comm. 80, complete any three Reasoning modules or workshops before the end of the Nonverbal Communication semester. Self-paced instructional modules Web Design are available whenever the Lab is open. The Romantic Relationships schedule of workshops will be announced in Interview Preparation classes, by flyers, and on Lab bulletin board. Web page for updates and changes: commlab.pbworks.com  To attend a workshop, just show up Seating is on a first come basis You must attend the full two-hour workshop for credit Preference is given to students enrolled in Comm 80 Some workshops have limited enrollment  Self-paced instructional modules are available any time during scheduled Lab hours. Each one takes a little over an hour to complete</p><p>Start early, don’t wait until the end of the semester to complete your modules-- workshops may be full and the lab gets very busy.</p><p>Grades of incomplete and no-credit are given for failure to complete the requirements</p><p>You may repeat Comm 80 for 2 additional semesters.
