<p> TEACHER</p><p>Creating an Account:</p><p>1. Go to http://bcps.edmodo.com. </p><p>2. Click on the I’m a Teacher button.</p><p>3. Fill out the information in the window that opens. </p><p> a. Your user name should be the first part of your email address before the “@” symbol.</p><p> b. Do NOT use your BCPS email password.</p><p> c. The school code for ______is ______</p><p> e. At this time you can only be associated with one school in Edmodo.</p><p>Changing Edmodo Settings:</p><p>1. From the Edmodo home page, click on the Account menu and select Settings.</p><p>2. Make changes as desired. Upload or choose a stock photo to use as your avatar.</p><p> b. Please do NOT use your BCPS email account password as your Edmodo password.</p><p> c. Select desired notifications. Use the pull down menu to select method of update.</p><p> d. Privacy settings limit your colleagues from “connecting” with you but are available.</p><p>Join an Edmodo Group:</p><p>Baltimore County Public Schools – Department of STEM Offices of Instructional Technology: Edmodo Set Up - Teachers September 2011 (revised February 2012) Page 3 of 11 1. From the Edmodo home page click the Join link in the left-hand navigation bar.</p><p>2. Enter the group code that the group creator will provide and click the Join button.</p><p>3. Access postings to/by this group by click its link in the left-hand navigation bar.</p><p>Create an Edmodo Group:</p><p>1. From the Edmodo home page click the Create link in the left-hand navigation bar.</p><p>2. Complete the following information:</p><p> a. Give the group a name.</p><p> b. Choose a subject area from the pull down menu and then the sub-subject.</p><p> d. Click the Create button.</p><p>3. Write down the group code for the newly created group.</p><p>If you forget a group code it is displayed in the right-hand navigation when you click on the group’s link in the left-hand navigation.</p><p>Baltimore County Public Schools – Department of STEM Offices of Instructional Technology: Edmodo Set Up - Teachers September 2011 (revised February 2012) Page 5 of 11 Student Accounts:</p><p>IMPORTANT:</p><p> Students need an Edmodo account to use this Web 2.0 tool.</p><p> A student must have a valid Group Code in order to create an account.</p><p> Each student should only have one account on the BCPS Edmodo Sub Domain (http://bcps.edmodo.com).</p><p> Students should not provide an email address on their BCPS Edmodo student account.</p><p> BCPS Student User names should be used for all BCPS Edmodo student accounts.</p><p> BCPS external passwords should be used for all BCPS Edmodo student account.</p><p>CREATING STUDENT ACCOUNTS:</p><p>1. Click on the “I’m a Student” button.</p><p>3. Complete the fields as follows:</p><p> a. Provide student’s BCPS user name. (available in easi system)</p><p> b. Provide student’s external password. (available in easi system)</p><p> c. Provide student’s first name.</p><p> d. Provide student’s last name. Provide students the Group Code (a) after verifying that information was entered properly then instruct students to click the Sign Up (b) button.</p><p>Baltimore County Public Schools – Department of STEM Offices of Instructional Technology: Edmodo Set Up - Teachers September 2011 (revised February 2012) Page 8 of 11 NOTE: The password field is not authenticated so if a student types the password in wrong they will not be able to access Edmodo in the future. (See next section to reset a student password.)</p><p>Reset Student Accounts:</p><p>If a student forgets his/her password, or did not enter their password properly when they created their account the teacher can reset the password.</p><p>1. Log into http://bcps.edmodo.com with your teacher account.</p><p>2. Click the Manage link in the right-hand navigation bar.</p><p>4. Scroll in the list to the student with the password issue and click on their name.</p><p>5. In the right-hand navigation information about the student will appear.
