Creating an Account:
1. Go to http://bcps.edmodo.com.
2. Click on the I’m a Teacher button.
3. Fill out the information in the window that opens.
a. Your user name should be the first part of your email address before the “@” symbol.
b. Do NOT use your BCPS email password.
c. Use your BCPS email address ONLY.

e. At this time you can only be associated with one school in Edmodo.
Changing Edmodo Settings:
1. From the Edmodo home page, click on the Account menu and select Settings.

b. Please do NOT use your BCPS email account password as your Edmodo password.
c. Select desired notifications. Use the pull down menu to select method of update.
d. Privacy settings limit your colleagues from “connecting” with you but are available.
Join an Edmodo Group:

2. Enter the group code that the group creator will provide and click the Join button.
3. Access postings to/by this group by click its link in the left-hand navigation bar.
Create an Edmodo Group:
1. From the Edmodo home page click the Create link in the left-hand navigation bar.
2. Complete the following information:
a. Give the group a name.
b. Select either one grade level or a range of grades (range shown).

d. Click the Create button.
3. Write down the group code for the newly created group.
If you forget a group code it is displayed in the right-hand navigation when you click on the group’s link in the left-hand navigation.

IMPORTANT:
Students need an Edmodo account to use this Web 2.0 tool.
A student must have a valid Group Code in order to create an account.
Each student should only have one account on the BCPS Edmodo Sub Domain (http://bcps.edmodo.com).
Students should not provide an email address on their BCPS Edmodo student account.
BCPS Student User names should be used for all BCPS Edmodo student accounts.
BCPS external passwords should be used for all BCPS Edmodo student account.
CREATING STUDENT ACCOUNTS:
1. Have students log into http://bcps.edmodo.com.

3. Complete the fields as follows:
a. Provide student’s BCPS user name. (available in easi system)
b. Provide student’s external password. (available in easi system)
c. Provide student’s first name.
d. Provide student’s last name. Leave email field blank.
NOTE: Do not provide group code to students until the teacher has verified

4. Provide students the Group Code (a) after verifying that information was entered properly then instruct students to click the Sign Up (b) button.

(See next section to reset a student password.)
Reset Student Accounts:
If a student forgets his/her password, or did not enter their password properly when they created their account the teacher can reset the password.
1. Log into http://bcps.edmodo.com with your teacher account.
2. Click on the group in the left-hand navigation that the student with the forgotten/incorrect password belongs to.

4. Scroll in the list to the student with the password issue and click on their name.
5. In the right-hand navigation information about the student will appear. Click the change Password link.
