<p> 1 WORKINTEXAS.COM EMPLOYER TASK FORCE RECOMMENDATIONS 2 DISCUSSION PAPER 3 4 5 Background 6 The Texas Workforce Commission (Commission) formed a WorkInTexas.com Task 7 Force charged with making recommendations on the best path to take in providing a new 8 job-matching system that meets the labor exchange and related needs of Texas job 9 seekers, employers, and other stakeholders. 10 11 The task force was composed of Local Workforce Development Board (Board) members, 12 Board executive directors, and a state agency representative: 13  Greg Yoxsimer, Permian Basin Board 14  Lillian Riojas, Coastal Bend Board 15  Leslie Sisk, Tarrant County Board 16  Julie Bugala, Greater Dallas Board 17  John J. Garcia, Gulf Coast Board 18  David Setzer, North Central Texas Board Executive Director 19  Mike Temple, Gulf Coast Board Executive Director 20  Susan Kamas, Central Texas Board Executive Director 21  Patty Garcia, Director of Human Resources (HR) Division, Texas Department of 22 Criminal Justice, and State Agency Coordinating Council HR Subcommittee 23  Robert Puls, West Central Texas Board, Business Development Consultant 24 25 The task force received invited testimony and held a roundtable discussion with various 26 employers, industry representatives, and other Board executive directors on what best 27 meets their needs. The task force heard from: 28  Tony Bennett, President, Texas Association of Manufacturers 29  Bob Cartwright, Texas Association of Business 30  Richard Lowe, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, St. David’s HealthCare 31 Partnership/HCA 32  Hector Rivero, President and CEO, Texas Chemical Council 33  Drew Scheberle, Senior Vice President, Austin Chamber of Commerce 34  Tom Micnhimer, Director of Human Resources, Premieant, Inc. 35  Will Newton, Executive Director, National Federation of Independent Business 36  Shawn Deabay, Director of Program Operations, Texas Veterans Commission 37 38 The task force reviewed job-matching systems in use in other states to survey current 39 functionality and tools.
