Discussion: None Abstentions: None Dissensions: None Results: Minutes approved.</p><p>INTRODUCTIONS: None</p><p>PUBLIC INPUT: None</p><p>INFORMATION SHARE:  None</p><p>CREATE 2012 ACTION PLAN (COINCIDES WITH FURTHER EVENT DISCUSSION):</p><p>FIRST STRATEGY:  Tanya put together a spreadsheet showing the activities discussed at the last meeting.  It would be late summer or early fall before anything happens with Liz’ project.  We need to have inventory trips included in the volunteer training.  Inventory can be scheduled for specific dates and times and can also be done randomly on each person’s own time.  We would direct people to look for weeds that are common in their area.  We need to determine how many classes and field trips we want to plan.  We could have volunteers identify weeds in the same area as professionals to see what their skill level is for identifying them.  Training will require a lot of involvement from Committee members.  The minimum length for training should be 2 hours and maximum 4 hours.  Will we provide food?</p><p>Weed Advisory Committee Meeting March 10, 2012  Beaver Creek Water District would be a good area to hit.  We might be able to coordinate with the Santiam Water District.  Time of year plays a part in whether people are willing to participate.  Santiam is an irrigation district and Beaver Creek is a water control district.  Tibby Larson with City of Salem said that the volunteers who worked on the Kuebler Blvd project have continued working on it on their own.  River Rd S near Homestead Rd would be a good place for an ivy pull.  Is there a way to encourage people to continue pulling weeds without us being involved?  For example a sign recognizing the volunteer work.  Posting a noxious weed sign at the fair entrance might be a good way to advertise.  Tanya will find out when “Waste Matters” comes out so we can get an article in there.  We want to do a weed pull at Niagara Park but carpool from Marion County Public Works.  We would like to have our trial class and inventory in May.  Tanya could do a U-Tube video called “Tansy 101”.  Tanya will send out a spreadsheet of the activities to this committee.  John thinks the Committee should take a field trip.</p><p>DISCUSS TERM LIMITS IN COMMITTEE BYLAWS:  Tanya spoke with someone from the BOC about removing the term limits from the bylaws.  The BOC wants to make sure that the terminology used in the bylaws clearly indicates that additional terms must be approved by the BOC. </p><p>MOTION: Unanimous approval to recommend to the BOC to remove the term limit from the bylaws using the terminology requested by the BOC.
