The oil field, which could contain as much as a billion barrels, would be the largest onshore discovery in at least 30 years. Once Lion’s stockpiles are depleted, TEPPCO will not ship any more of the high sulfur product. The study will assess how the current design standards in the region withstood the force of the hurricane. The facility would be the first in the U.S. to use HiLoad technology that uses rubber connectors to eliminate relative motion during offloading. The plant will be located in Calvert City, Kentucky. The plant will convert low grade coal into high grade coal by reducing moisture, ash, and sulfur content.
