Do you need advice on renting rights and responsibilities or product safety? Do you wish to pay a fine or obtain a birth, death or marriage certificate? </p><p>If so then the Department of Justice can help with:</p><p> Births, death and marriage enquiries – Your application for a birth, death or marriage certificate can be lodged at a Justice Service Centre or Regional Office.</p><p> Community correctional services – Offenders in local communities are supported by Community Corrections Officers to ensure they meet the conditions of their court or parole orders, including connecting them with community work options. </p><p> Consumer help – Consumers and businesses can get advice from Consumer Affairs about a range of topics, including building and renovating, business licensing and regulation, buying and selling property, product safety, renting, shopping and trading.</p><p> Resolving disputes – People can settle their differences informally, fairly and for free through the Dispute Settlement Centre of Victoria, providing a less costly and faster option than going to court. </p><p> Victims support services – If you have been a victim of crime, there are services across Victoria providing practical support through information and advice, or connections with other services that can help.
