<p> THE INTERNET IS FOREVER Missouri Bar Leadership Academy Class of 2012</p><p>PART V: TEXTING: DO’S AND DON’T’S</p><p>Description: This lesson plan will explore the dangers of improper texting.</p><p>Objectives and Briefing Students: Suggestion: Students will be able to describe the serious consequences associated with improper texting.</p><p>Suggested Grade Levels: 5-6</p><p>Materials Needed: Computer with projector or Smart Board for accompanying PowerPoint presentation. Pens or pencils and paper for the Quick and Post-Presentation Assessments. </p><p>Procedures:</p><p>1. Conduct the Quick Assessment.</p><p>2. PowerPoint presentation.</p><p>3. Perform the Cooperative Learning Activity.</p><p>4. Perform the Post-Presentation Assessment.</p><p>Suggested Cooperative Learning Activity:</p><p>Have students get in to groups of 3-4. Tell them the activity is to plan out a skit where someone their age gets caught using an inappropriate form of texting communication, and some consequences that happen to them. For example, maybe have one student be a parent or teacher, another student be the person involved, and one student be a friend. Have the groups take turns performing the skits in class. </p>
