Important Information

 Word Lists for Weekly Selections: Please use the attached page for spelling and vocabulary words to study for weekly tests.  Math Facts: This year it is imperative that your child know, from memorization, their addition, subtraction, and multiplication facts. Flashcards are a great way to ensure they learn them. Flashcards can be store-bought or home-made. It does not matter. If your child shows hesitation for longer than three seconds for a specific fact when flashing a card, this is probably one they need to practice more. We will be using flashcards in class as well.  Jackets in Class: We will be running the air conditioner on and off throughout the school day. Sometimes it gets chilly for the children. Please allow them to bring a RED or NAVY jacket to keep in their backpack so they can wear them as they wish.

Spelling Words: 5. specimen-a bit of tissue or blood that is taken 1. to for testing purposes 2. too 6. promptly-in a punctual manner 3. two 7. appetite-a feeling of craving something 4. steal 8. relieved- to be free from worry, pain, or other 5. steel difficulty 6. there 9. delightfully-very pleasing 7. their 10. manure-waste matter of animals used to 8. they’re fertilize soil 9. threw 11. enchanted- to charm greatly 10. through 12. amused- pleasurably entertained, or occupied 11. pale 13. litter- the young animals produced at one time 12. pail 14. peered-looked closely to see clearly 13. your 15. trough-a long, narrow container for holding 14. you’re food 15. rays 16. slops-pig food, sometimes tablescraps 16. raise 17. snout-the part of an animals 17. stair head that contains the nose, mouth and jaw 18. stare 18. captivity-condition of being help in prison, 19. flour being held against one’s will 20. flower 19. vanished- disappear, especially suddenly 21. principle 22. principal

Vocabulary Words

1. injustice-an unfair act 2. runt-small 3. distribute-to give to several people 4. miserable- very unhappy
