<p> INDIANA</p><p>S. M. I. L. E. Sharing Moments In the Lives of the Elderly STATE PROJECT</p><p>S.M.I.L.E.</p><p>May 2014 S.M.I.L.E. Page 1 of 4 Overview: S.M.I.L.E. (Sharing Moments In the Lives of the Elderly) is a project recognizing chapters who use the planning process to team with the elderly and strengthen understanding of each other. Students must create a trifold display demonstrating their increased knowledge of the elderly and the public awareness of the chapter’s community involvement. This is a chapter project.</p><p>Entry: Individual or Team (maximum of 3) event to represent the chapter project</p><p>VISUAL GUIDELINES: 1. Use of the planning process to develop your project and include the planning process summary 2. A tri-fold display board, not exceeding 18” deep X 4’ wide X 4’ high, with no use of electrical equipment. 3. There must be a 3” x 5” Project Identification Card attached to the back of a lower corner of the display that identifies: Name, Chapter name, School, City, State, Grade and District.</p><p>PROJECT DETAILS: 1. The title of the project, SMILE, must be on the board. A subtitle is optional.</p><p>2. Each step of the Planning Process is fully explained, neatly typed or written and attached to the display board.</p><p>3. The display must include explanations and evidence of the following: o brought elderly awareness to the community by . . . o benefited the elderly community by . . . o benefited the chapter by . . . Some items that may be used, but not limited to: o Newspaper Clippings o Project Samples o Pictures</p><p>4.
