Sleeve Gastrectomy Diet</p><p>You are instructed to follow a liquid diet for one week before trying pureed food</p><p>For first week One to two ounces of liquid no more frequently than every 20 minutes while after surgery you are awake.</p><p>Days 7-14 after Begin pureed foods starting with 4 to 6 mini-meals every day. surgery</p><p>3rd & 4th week Continue to eat 4 to 6 mini-meals per day but switch to soft solid food. after discharge</p><p>Stop eating when you are comfortably satisfied. Do not spend more than Always eat slowly 20 minutes eating at a time.</p><p>Consume one high protein drink every day, starting the day that you get home from the hospital.</p><p>Try to drink 64 ounces of liquid without caffeine each day starting day 3 after surgery. Wait at least 60 minutes after eating before you start drinking. Stop Liquids drinking 15 minutes before you eat.</p><p>Drink slowly and do not use straws.</p><p>Do not drink carbonated beverages after surgery. Do not drink alcoholic beverages for one month after surgery.</p><p>When do I follow-up after surgery?</p><p>You will meet with your surgeon 2 to 3 weeks after. You will then follow-up with your surgeon at 3 months and 6 months after surgery, every 6 months for 1½ years and then every year.
