Find a list of all of the clubs on campus at www.Stars.umd.edu </p><p>Also, don’t forget to check out the First Look Fair. It’s a great opportunity to see all of the clubs represented and talk to the members about getting involved. Sports Fans</p><p>Intramural and club sports are huge on Maryland’s campus. If you’re interested in starting a team, get some friends together and sign up at www.crs.umd.edu . If you don’t have enough to form a whole team, just ask around; existing teams are always looking for more members!</p><p>Also, don’t forget to check out the varsity teams on campus! Football games in the fall semester and basketball games in the spring are exciting ways to get into the Terp spirit!  Greek Life</p><p>Rushing (the process by which students decide what fraternities or sororities they would like to join, and the fraternities and sororities decide which students they would like to join) occurs at the beginning of each semester. Most fraternities and sororities will allow students to rush each semester until the second semester of their sophomore year. This gives you the opportunity to rush multiple times if you do not feel that you have found the right organization for you. To get more information about specific fraternities and sororities, you can find their websites at http://www.studentorg.umd.edu/</p><p>Once rushing begins, there will be fliers all over campus, but you can get more specific and detailed information from the fraternity or sorority website.</p><p>Set Yourself Up for Success</p><p>At the University of Maryland we have a number of resources available to help students academically... </p><p>The Math Success Program offers free math tutoring in Easton Hall and at the Stamp Student Union several days a week. </p><p>The Writing Center in Taliaferro Hall can help out a lot when you’ve got a tough paper to write. </p><p>The Learning Assistance Service, located in the Counseling Center in the Shoemaker Building, offers many different programs to suit your academic needs, including workshops about time management and studying for midterms and finals.</p><p>Community Service-Learning</p><p>Community Service-Learning can be a highly rewarding experience for college students, as well as being extremely helpful to the local community. </p><p>Community service is a popular co-curricular activity for many Maryland students. In fact, Maryland’s Community Service-Learning Program is rated 17th in the nation according to U.S. News & World Report.</p><p>There are many opportunities available, no matter how much or how little time you are able to serve! Check out www.csl.umd.edu</p><p>On-Campus Dining Options</p><p>You probably already know where the Diner and/or the South Campus Dining Hall are, but what about other places to eat on campus? </p><p>- In the Stamp Student Union, you can find… o Adele’s – a full-service restaurant where you can use your diner points! Don’t forget tip money, though! o The Food Court – Panda Express, Sbarro, Chik-Fil-A, McDonald’s, Steak Escape, and MUCH MORE! o Subway, located in Terp Zone on the lower level o The Union Shop – for a quick snack o The Co-Op, located next to Terp Zone, serving organic and vegetarian/vegan food! o The Coffee Bar serves Starbucks coffee drinks, pastries, and GELATO! </p><p>- In academic buildings, you can find… o Footnotes Café, located in McKeldin Library, a café offering up Starbucks coffee, as well as a variety of pastries o Rudy’s Café, located in Van Munching Hall, serves sandwiches, hot entrées, salads, cinnamon rolls, and Starbucks Coffee o Applause Café, located in the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, serves up sushi, panini sandwiches, pizza, pastries and bagels, and Starbucks coffee o E+M Bakery and E+M Deli, in the Engineering Building, wakes you up with donuts, croissants, muffins, bagels, and Seattle's Best coffee.
