We will determine whether drugs used as nutritional supplements may interfere with breast cancer treatment. Approaches: We will use yeast as model systems for identifying drug-drug interactions. </p><p>Students will grow up yeast containing estrogen receptors and estrogen- responsive genes, will culture them with different estrogen ligands (agonist, antagonists and “putative” ligands), then assay for activity using LacZ as the read-out.
