<p> 1</p><p>Six Sigma Black Belt – Incorporating Lean</p><p>Course Outline</p><p>This ten day course develops and enhances technical and soft skills required by the Six Sigma Black Belt, building on the foundations of Green Belt. Focus is placed on the Black Belt as Subject Matter Expert, coach and mentor. More advanced Six Sigma tools; critical components of project management are examined in structured workshop learning. The application of these principles is achieved through a two part intensive program (5 days each). </p><p>Part 1 </p><p>• Highly interactive, workshop based </p><p>• Focus on Black Belt as Mentor and Subject Matter Expert </p><p>• Review of DMAIC </p><p>• Change management – change acceleration process tools, change models, individual differences </p><p>• Project management – key tools for scoping, planning, scheduling, costing, implementing, reporting and closing projects, alignment to DMAIC </p><p>• Lean – fit with Six Sigma, adding value, eliminating waste, Lean Tool box </p><p>• Team presentation on case study </p><p>• Certification exam, Part 1 (optional) </p><p>Part 2 </p><p>• Highly interactive, workshop based </p><p>• Focus on Black Belt as Coach </p><p>• Review of DMAIC </p><p>• Advanced statistics – probability, non-normal distributions, DOE, non-parametrics, multiple regression, multivariate analysis, logistic regression </p><p>• Design for Six Sigma – DMEDV, QFD, response surface design, FMEA, Triz </p><p>• Working with teams – team building, facilitation, working styles • Team presentation on case study • Certification exam, Part 2 (optional) </p><p>Learning Outcomes </p><p>Through practical application, participants select and manage a Six Sigma project for their organization, the framework for which is established during the course. Advanced statistical techniques are applied in practice for a given project, resulting in a defined methodology for managing projects within organizations. Key Lean tools are explored and aligned with the DMAIC framework. This course is conducted in two separate five-day intense sessions in a residential situation. Participants may be required to undertake activities during the sessions outside of the designated course times. Between course sessions, project review and private study will be undertaken to fully equip new Black belts to effectively manage projects. </p><p>2</p><p>Who should attend? </p><p>• Green Belts ready to move to complex and/or large project implementations </p><p>• Green Belts who are required to train, coach and mentor others within their organization </p><p>• TQM and SPC managers seeking to align their skills to Six Sigma requirements </p><p>Course Requirements </p><p>Participants must have completed the Green belt course and are required to bring a laptop/notebook computer, configured for minimum Excel 2000 with Analysis Toolpak add-ins, Green Belt reference material,</p>
