<p>Call Center Counselors Min. National Student Loan Program is seeking Call Center Representatives to be a part of something special. </p><p>Purpose/Summary: This position is responsible for handling inbound/outbound calls. The Call Center Representative is responsible for contacting delinquent customers, counseling them on their account status, options and default consequences. </p><p>The Call Center Counselor cannot have defaulted on Student Loans in the last 7 years. Candidates may be subject to credit checks when appropriate. </p><p>Responsibilities/Essential Functions: • Using persuasive speaking techniques, superb customer service skills, and call control techniques, counsel student borrowers on methods to avoid default and successfully resolve delinquency. • Contacts delinquent borrowers by telephone; to confirm ability to make payments without difficulty. If a problem should develop with future payments then suggest alternatives such as, deferments, forbearance, or a different repayment plan & negotiate terms for repayment of debts within the limits of the law, regulations, policies, and procedures governing the collection of delinquent or defaulted accounts. • Provide borrowers with default prevention counseling through outbound calling while following policy and procedures. • Consistently meets Department goals and deadlines.</p><p>EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED equivalent</p><p>EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED: </p><p>• Ability to speak Spanish helpful • Call center/customer service experience • Basic PC skills • Strong analytical and problem solving </p><p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Knowledge of the student loan process preferred • Sales Experience Helpful • Two years post-secondary education </p><p>HOURS: Various schedules Monday thru Saturday (F/T & P/T).
