<p> EARLY CHILDHOOD (PRE-SCHOOL) EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENTS</p><p>GUIDANCE</p><p> MDE will be monitoring and reporting on Pre-School environments for the first time the 2013-2014 school year</p><p> Compliance Targets</p><p> o 28.2% of students- inside a regular pre-school program for part of their day</p><p> o 43.2% of students - in a separate, class, school, or residential facility </p><p> o “neutral” – walk-in services</p><p> Use the Michigan Decision Tree for Coding Educational Environments</p><p> o The first question to ask parents, “is the student attending a regular early childhood program?”</p><p>. If yes, enter 46, 47, 48, or 49 (examples below)</p><p> 46 – At least 10 hours in regular early childhood program with ECSE or walk-in services</p><p> o Services provided in the regular childhood program (Headstart, Great Start, district pre-school)</p><p> 47 – At least 10 hours in regular early childhood program with ECSE or walk-in services</p><p> o Services provided in some other location (ECSE classroom, Hillside, service provider room)</p><p> 48 – Less than 10 hours in regular early childhood program with ECSE or walk-in services</p><p> o Services provided in the regular childhood program (private or district pre- school)</p><p> 49 – Less than 10 hours in regular early childhood program with ECSE or walk-in services</p><p> o Services provided in some other location (ECSE classroom, Hillside, service provider room)</p><p>. If no, enter 22, 23, 25, 26, or 27 (examples below) </p><p>. NO HOURS IN REGULAR EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAM </p><p> 22 – ECSE classroom </p><p> 23 – Homebound</p><p> 25 – Residential facility</p><p> 26 – Hillside</p><p> 27 – Walk-in services</p><p> Enter the Educational Environment on the Programs and Services Page of the IEP </p>
