<p> 13-2</p><p>Citizens on Patrol Volunteer Program</p><p>The City of Coalinga Police Department is currently seeking highly motivated individuals to join the elite Citizens on Patrol Program. </p><p>Basic Function: Individuals who are qualified and selected will have the opportunity to join a special team of citizen volunteers who will assist in a variety of meaningful ways while patrolling the streets in specially marked patrol vehicles, in uniform as non-sworn community volunteers. </p><p>Representative Duties:  Patrol an assigned area </p><p> Assist in the direction of traffic at crash scenes</p><p> Assist disabled motorists </p><p> Assist in the completion of department related forms/reports</p><p> Check abandoned vehicles </p><p> Perform area checks</p><p> Perform citizen welfare checks </p><p> Watch for disturbances and suspicious activities</p><p>Knowledge, Knowledge of: Effective communication techniques; community resources; Skills and map reading and comprehension. Abilities: Skill and Ability to: Work with minimal supervision; operate radio and equipment; Analyze situations accurately and make quick decisions during emergencies; remember details, and think clearly; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships; speak and enunciate clearly; possess competent written/verbal English skills; listen and articulate radio transmissions. Education and Experience: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.</p><p>Must be at least 18 years of age. </p><p>Must possess a valid California State Drivers License, Class C with a clean DMV record and must be insurable under the City’s insurance policy without the City incurring any additional premiums or costs.</p><p>The selected applicant(s) will be required to undergo and pass a background 13-2</p><p> check and a drug test.</p><p>Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien.</p><p>Required Material: 1.
