Quiz on Romeo & Juliet Act V on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008! </p><p>2/25/08</p><p>Obj: We will review Act V of Romeo & Juliet in preparation for a quiz on Tuesday, February 26.</p><p>Do Now: Divide into preselected teams. 5-10 m.</p><p>In-Class Activities: </p><p> Review Game – Family Feud. 40-45 m.</p><p>Assessment: informal assessment based on class participation.</p><p>Homework: study for your Romeo & Juliet Act V quiz.</p><p>2/26/08 </p><p>Obj: We will assess our knowledge of Act V of Romeo & Juliet.</p><p>Do Now: Review for your quiz on Act V of Romeo & Juliet. 5-10 m.</p><p>In-Class Activities: </p><p> Romeo & Juliet Act V quiz. 20-25 m.  Mind teaser as time permits</p><p>Assessment: Romeo & Juliet Act V quiz.</p><p>Homework: N/A </p><p>2/27/08 </p><p>Obj: We will begin to read and analyze poetry.</p><p>Do Now: Oral Anticipation Guide. 15-20 m.</p><p>In-Class Activities: </p><p> We will receive and record a loose definition of poetry. 10-15 m.  Oral Recitation of “Sleight of Hand” by Eddie Vedder 5 m.  Oral Recitation of “Different Names for the Same Thing” by Ben Gibbard. 5 m.  Music Video of “Different Names for the Same Thing” performed by Death Cab for Cutie, directed by Autumn de Wilde 5-15 m.</p><p>Assessment: informal assessment based on class participation.</p><p>Homework: Choose a set of song lyrics, appropriate for school, and bring them in tomorrow prepared to share them with the class.</p><p>2/28/08</p><p>Obj: We will read and analyze poetry.</p><p>Do Now: We will be asked to prepare our song lyrics for recitation. 5 m.</p><p>In-Class Activities: </p><p> We will read our chosen song lyrics aloud as poetry noting the author. 30-35 m.  We will be given two new vocabulary terms; rhyme and rhythm 5-10 m.  We will prepare a two to three paragraph defense of our song lyrics and why they should be considered poetry for homework. 10-15 m.</p><p>Assessment: individual oral assessments</p><p>Homework: Song lyric defense.</p><p>2/29/08</p><p>Obj: We will read and analyze poetry.</p><p>Do Now: Collect song lyric defense. 5-10 m.</p><p>In-Class Activities: </p><p> We will study the different types of rhyme schemes and rhythmic feet. 20-30 m.  Rhyme schemes and rhythmic feet worksheet for homework. 10-25 m. </p><p>Assessment: informal assessment based on class participation.</p><p>Homework: Rhyme schemes and rhythmic feet worksheet</p>
