In this discipline of medicine, the imperative is on the recognition that 80% of all chronic disease is the result of lifestyle behaviors and, as such, working to change lifestyle behaviors to treat the cause. There is an enormous body of literature that supports this notion. I have spent most of the last 7 years studying the literature, taking courses to improve my knowledge on the subject, lecturing on the topic and treating patients with Lifestyle Medicine. I have also had a paper published on the topic in the peer reviewed, American Journal of Lifestyle Medicine. The American College of Lifestyle Medicine has had annual conferences for the last 5 years and I have been on the planning committee for the organization for the last 3. I was planning chair for both 2015 and 2016.

I also hold a CPE (Certified Physician Executive) which was granted to me by the American Association for Physician Leaders after 150 hours of coursework and a Capstone Project Presentation. This has given me specific financial and economic education.

Education

My undergraduate education was in Biology at Doane College in Crete, NE. I was accepted into medical school after only 3 years of undergraduate study by the University of Nebraska College of Medicine.
