<p>Preparations of various Amphotericin B formulations (non-sterile) (Adapted from Dr. Turtinen’s method)</p><p>Fungizone (Amphocin)</p><p>1. Allow to come to room temperature in dark place (pocket). 2. On quantitative balance, weigh out 11.1 mg using weigh paper (keep lights off/low). 3. Place in microfuge tube and add 1mL of buffer or water right before use. Keep in the dark.</p><p> a. This corresponds to 5mg/mL (5.41mM) of Amphotericin B</p><p>Ambisome</p><p>1. Allow to come to room temperature in dark place (pocket). 2. On quantitative balance, weigh out 136 mg using weigh paper (keep lights off/low). 3. Place in microfuge tube and add 1mL of buffer or water right before use. Keep in the dark.</p><p> a. This corresponds to 5mg/mL (5.41mM) of Amphotericin B.</p><p>Amphotec</p><p>1. Allow to come to room temperature in dark place (pocket). 2. On quantitative balance, weigh out 103 mg using weigh paper (keep lights off/low). 3. Place in microfuge tube and add 1mL of buffer or water right before use. Keep in the dark.</p><p> a. This corresponds to 5mg/mL (5.41mM) of Amphotericin B.</p><p>Abelcet</p><p>1. Keep in fridge until needed 2. The concentration of this suspension is 5mg/mL (5.41mM) of Amphotericin B. Keep in the dark.</p>
