One recipient may be selected by the Governing Board of Sections and Branches or Student Chapters each year.</p><p> b. The recipient may or may not be an ASCE member. Although several awards may be given each year, only one award may be presented to any given person in a year.</p><p> c. Awardees are to be selected for their service to the general public. The service for which an awardee is selected should have some connection with the planning, design, or construction of the people-serving works of the civil engineering profession.</p><p>ASCE - Pittsburgh Section Page 8 4/28/2018 d. The award shall consist of an appropriate certificate with the following citation:</p><p> e. “Awarded in recognition of service to people” (Name of person selected). “Presented in acknowledgment and appreciation of your outstanding service to advance the welfare of the people in our community. The name of the recipient will be suitably inscribed on the certificate.</p><p> g.
