<p>VSI Disability Committee Report (VSIdisabilityJUNEreptof2016.doc)</p><p>June 10, 2016</p><p>Emilia Scovel swam in a Spring Invitational meet on March 19 – 20th, where she attained personal bests in the 50 Breast and the 50 Free. Emilia placed 3rd in her heat in the 50 </p><p>Breast and swam her best time ever. She is back in the pool after a two week break, and she is swimming for her summer team, the Sideburn Run Sharks. She is looking forward to a great summer in the pool.</p><p>Samantha Tubbs is training with the Rappahannock Raiders, in preparation for the </p><p>Paralympic Trials in Charlotte, N.C. , at the end of June. </p><p>Joseph Peppersack is also preparing for the Paralympic Trials at the end of June. </p><p>Sean Harrington has been working at Chesapeak e Regional Medical Center, and he still swims to keep in shape .</p><p>The VSI Disability Committee has been looking at strategies to include and attempt to support athletes in competitive swim meets who are intolerant , to the point of provoking seizure activity, with the stimuli of strobe lights or flashing lights . </p><p>Furthermore, the VSI Disability Committee has been working on a proposal for standardized , consistent reimbursement, within certain limits , for disabled VSI swimmers competing at national level meets.
