Its members have distinguished themselves in combat by extraordinary acts of selfless heroism; and have been recognized by our nation with award of the Congressional Medal of Honor or the Armed Services highest award for extraordinary heroism in actions spanning the Spanish-American War to the present conflict in Afghanistan. We number only a few thousand awardees in the past 122 years, and many of our World War II awardees are in the autumn of their lives.</p><p>The Legion of Valor members meet at an annual convention each year, and this year the 122nd Annual Convention is to be held in Norfolk, Virginia, May 30-Jun 3 (learn more at www.legionofvalorconvention2012.com). The highlight of the convention is the VIP Reception and Banquet on the evening of Jun 2nd (6:00-10:00pm) at the Marriott Waterside in Norfolk, Virginia. Our keynote speaker is LtGen George Flynn, Joint Staff J-7.
