<p> Anglo-Saxon History Power Point English 12</p><p>Mrs. Eckman Wissler</p><p>Directions:</p><p>You are to create a power point presentation that will cover (1) one of the following areas:</p><p>1. Celts and Celtic Culture (pre- 1066 )</p><p>2. Paganism/ Druids/ Animism- what was it and what was the influence on literature and society during this era?</p><p>3. Angles, Saxons and Jutes- who were they, where did they come from and why did they come to Britain? Also- the formation of the Anglo-Saxon culture- society/way of life, language.</p><p>4. Anglo-Saxon Weapons and Art.</p><p>5. Roman influence on Britain- culture, religion, government.</p><p>6. Queen Boadicea (Boudicia)</p><p>7. Women in Anglo-Saxon culture and literature.</p><p>8. The introduction of Christianity- the monks, the church, influence on society.</p><p>9. The genre of poetry for this era: Scops, oral tradition, Epic poetry (defined) and kennings.</p><p>10. Ireland and its role in Anglo-Saxon Britain.</p><p>11. Epic Poems, kennings and alliterations- specifically how it applies to Anglo-Saxon poetry/literature.</p><p>12. Introduction to Beowulf: a BRIEF summary, historical relevance, characters and themes.</p><p>Power Point Directions:</p><p> Your presentation must be AT LEAST 10 slides which DOES NOT include the title or resource slide.</p><p> Must include a RESOURCE slide. This slide should list EACH website that you used to gather your information . </p><p> You CANNOT use any wikispace- these are editable and therefore, NOT RELIABLE, sites. Do not use Blog sites either! (i.e. Wikipedia)  You must put your initials on the bottom RIGHT side of EACH slide you do.</p><p> You must use AT LEAST 3 DIFFERENT web sites! Each slide should have the website listed.</p><p> Each slide should have an image.</p><p> Each person in your group must do at least 5 slides.</p><p> You will be given 3 grades: (1) Individual Grade, (1) Group Grade and (1) Presentation Grade. The Individual grade is based on YOUR 5 slides, the group grade is the grade everyone gets and the presentation grade is for each person who is there the day of presentation.
