<p> Please join us and present your work at the 8th New DEEL* Conference!!</p><p>DATE: Friday May 5th and Saturday May 6th, 2017</p><p>LOCATION: Temple University, Philadelphia PA, USA</p><p>THEME: Dewey 101: The Meaning of Democracy and Education in a Complex, Turbulent and Dangerous World. On the 101st anniversary of Democracy and Education we believe that Dewey’s progressive vision still rings true. Yet, we need to reconstruct and re-contextualize his educational philosophy for our own times.</p><p>We ask: What is the meaning and the promise of Democracy and Education in the context of 2017?</p><p>We especially encourage proposals that consider themes such as:  Confronting Racial and Economic Oppression  Working towards Gender Equity  Facing the Threat of Violence</p><p>(*Democratic Ethical Educational Leadership) Presentation proposals (250 word max) are due by January 31, 2017. You will be notified of acceptance by February 28, 2017.
