On the 101st anniversary of Democracy and Education we believe that Dewey’s progressive vision still rings true. Yet, we need to reconstruct and re-contextualize his educational philosophy for our own times.</p><p>We ask: What is the meaning and the promise of Democracy and Education in the context of 2017?</p><p>We especially encourage proposals that consider themes such as:  Confronting Racial and Economic Oppression  Working towards Gender Equity  Facing the Threat of Violence</p><p>(*Democratic Ethical Educational Leadership) Presentation proposals (250 word max) are due by January 31, 2017.
