Marketing and recruiting update</p><p> a. Enrollment update – Spring 2012 trends</p><p> b. Application trends – Fall 2012</p><p> c. Google ads & new landing page</p><p> d. Graduate fairs</p><p>2. Marketing & recruiting communication plans – sharing best practices – Please come prepared to describe things you are doing to improve your marketing and recruiting efforts or describe existing practices that have been highly effective</p><p> a. Volunteers requested to help serve on ad-hoc committee</p><p>3. Proposed changes to admissions procedures – for discussion</p><p> a. Reduced transcript requirements</p><p> b. Admit by exception policy revisions</p><p> c. GPA calculation revisions</p><p> d. Separate non-degree faculty application</p><p>4. Admissions office announcements</p><p> a. New GRE scores</p><p> b. Electronic statement of purpose & resume going live March 5</p><p>5. Survey of first year graduate students – for discussion</p><p>6. Update on recommendations from Orientation Working Group thus far- a. Change program to the Friday before classes start rather than the Saturday b. One full day : First morning session-Welcome from the Dean and review of important academic policies; c. Mid-morning -students go to program area to meet with graduate program directors and fellow classmates. d. Afternoon- have reps from Financial Aid, Cashier’s Office, Registrar’s office and Academic Computing available for an hour or two in centrally located computer labs to assist students and answer questions. e. Concurrent introductory sessions run in the afternoon to supplement online modules on Preparing to Teach, Responsible Conduct of Research f. Development of Blackboard course with modules related to getting started in the fall (registration, financial aid, payment of tuition/fees, etc.), preparation for teaching, responsible conduct of research, academic integrity, GA contracts/ terms and conditions. URL /access given to all newly admitted degree seeking graduate students</p>
