<p> Advent and Christmas Chapters 13 & 14</p><p>1. During the four weeks of Advent we prepare for Jesus’ birth. </p><p>2. The word Advent means “coming”.</p><p>3. The Liturgical color for Advent is purple.</p><p>4. The Jesse Tree is Jesus’ family tree. </p><p>5. The Advent Wreath is a way of counting the Sundays in Advent and to prepare for Jesus’ coming.</p><p>6. Three candles are purple and one is pink.</p><p>7. We light the pink candle the week before Christmas.</p><p>8. We celebrate Jesus’ birth on December 25th, Christmas Day.</p><p>9. The liturgical colors for Christmas are white and gold.</p><p>10. During the season of Christmas, we celebrate that the Son of God was born to save us.</p><p>11. During Advent and Christmas, Jesus is called Emmanuel.</p><p>12. Emmanuel means “God with us”.</p><p>13. Abraham was the first great leader of God’s people.</p><p>14. Moses led the people through the desert and was given stone tablets on which the Ten Commandments were listed. </p><p>15. Noah saved his people from the flood. </p>
