<p>Fescue Hair Shedding Distribution</p><p>Objectives: (*Optional)</p><p>1. Identify a percentage distribution from herds in SE/NE Oklahoma to see how much influence fescue (K31) has on cow/calf operations. 2. Evaluate bull characteristics for month of hair shedding. 3. *Evaluate pregnancy rates by hair shedding score. 4. *Evaluate weaning weights by hair shedding score.</p><p>Educators will pick one/two herds (1 with Fescue and 1 without) in their county and take pictures of the cows sometime in the month of April and provide a hair shedding score. The second group of 15 cows were in a pasture with approximately 50% fescue, 50% bermudagrass, calves received creep feed. The first and second groups were rotational grazed with summer bermudagrass pastures, and spring calving. The third group of 5 cows were on a continuous pasture with fescue, bermudagrass, and clovers; fall calving, and calves received creep feed. All pastures had a 20% supplement tub in them.</p>
