An understanding of ASC and experience working with children on the Autistic Spectrum is essential. </p><p>The successful applicant will be required to work Monday – Friday (Initially for 17.5 hours per week) mainly supporting a specific child. The child may leave at any time or funding/hours may cease which would terminate the post. </p><p>Responsibilities will include:- *Supporting a child/ groups of children within the Classroom and making the necessary adjustments on a day to day basis to ensure they access the curriculum. *Using specialist knowledge/experience of ASC to provide appropriate support in relation to the individual needs of the children. *To support and maintain positive links between home and school by making parents feel welcome and develop links with other external agencies</p><p>The successful applicant will need to:- *be qualified to NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants (or recognised equivalent qualification) *experience of working to support children’s learning, gained in a relevant environment is essential *work effectively within a team but also on their own initiative *be flexible, a quick thinker and well organised *excellent behaviour management strategies *be firm and consistent in their approach</p><p>For more information about this exciting opportunity, call 01785 354070 to arrange a visit (strongly recommended).
