Job Title:-TEACHING ASSISTANT ADDITIONAL NEEDS – INDIVIDUAL, GROUP AND CLASS SUPPORT The Academy Representatives of St Dominic’s Catholic Primary School are seeking to appoint a confident, enthusiastic and hard-working Teaching Assistant to work to support a class teacher with individual and groups of children. An understanding of ASC and experience working with children on the Autistic Spectrum is essential.

The successful applicant will be required to work Monday – Friday (Initially for 17.5 hours per week) mainly supporting a specific child. The child may leave at any time or funding/hours may cease which would terminate the post.

Responsibilities will include:- *Supporting a child/ groups of children within the Classroom and making the necessary adjustments on a day to day basis to ensure they access the curriculum. *Using specialist knowledge/experience of ASC to provide appropriate support in relation to the individual needs of the children. *To support and maintain positive links between home and school by making parents feel welcome and develop links with other external agencies

The successful applicant will need to:- *be qualified to NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants (or recognised equivalent qualification) *experience of working to support children’s learning, gained in a relevant environment is essential *work effectively within a team but also on their own initiative *be flexible, a quick thinker and well organised *excellent behaviour management strategies *be firm and consistent in their approach

Salary:- £14,615 - £15,238 (pro rata) Scale:- Grade 2 Pt 7 – Pt 10
